Self care 🌼🌞

" Self care isn't selfish. "

Sometimes we are so used to caring about others that even to care about ourselves is considered selfish.
It's okay to say NO if something is too demanding for you, if something is draining your energy. It's okay to postpone plans with your partner or friends or colleagues. The feeling of being present with everyone ALL the time can such the energy out of you. (Especially if you're an introvert like me.)
What is self care ?
Self care can be ANYTHING which gives you joy, which relaxes you. It can be something as simple as a scented candle and a book or even cooking your favorite pasta or something luxurious like getting a spa or shopping.
Self care is not complicated.
In past few years having endometriosis, failing in my career, not having my closest friends around me and having a long distance relationship was something stressing me a lot even though no one really knew about it because I rarely talked about it.
I used to cry, overthink, fight with my boyfriend (now husband) all the time because I was NOT happy. Sometimes when we are not happy, we tend to spread that unhappiness to others too.
Self care for me at that time was going for a hair spa, going to a good cafe and reading a book alone.
Sometimes self care is not very simple also. I know I'm contradicting my own statement but you'll know why.
Sometimes even though self care can be a simply saying 'No' to someone who's asking too much of you. It can be sometimes 'Letting go' of something which you had kept with you for many years. These things aren't simple.
I had to let go of my career. A career with which I had hundreds of dreams, a career for which I gave 5 years of my life, a career which made my parents proud of me.
It wasn't easy. It was not an overnight decision. It was a different form of self care and that too something which had a long term affect on my life.
Let me tell you, it was the best decision ever. I regret that I took so much time to let go of it.
To not think of my career CONSTANTLY is such a relief and breath of fresh air ! I had forgotten what it was like because since my graduation 5 years ago I was pursuing same career which I couldn't complete.
So, self care either easy or difficult is important for you, also important for other around you.

About the blog

" Mindfulness means being awake. It means knowing what you're doing. " 🌼✨

Hello readers,

I created this blog to document my journey of learning to meditate, to be mindful, to be kinder, to control my anger and also talk openly about my feelings.
I have been an introvert all my life and as an introvert, I find it extremely difficult to share my inner most feelings with the most closest family member too.
I was diagnosed with a chronic illness called Endometriosis 3 years ago and also have been facing a lull in my career, both of which added to my stress.
I'll be sharing about my journey of overcoming the stress related to career and personal aspects of my life and hopefully it helps someone some where trying to cope with some kind of stress.
Thank you for visiting my blog.
Hope to see you soon.
